First Dates.....14th Symposium!  First Dates….14th Symposium! I remember my first date like it was yesterday. Here I was in my car with my hands on the wheel deciding to go to the excursion to meet my friend. I was nervous and my head was saying “Yes,” but my stomach and body was telling me “No!” I sat there for about 15 minutes and I got mad- “I am not going to wimp out,” I told myself. I pulled myself together and I got of the car. I walked into the hall. I paid my $10.00 entrance fee and entered. The first thing I noticed was the event was packed with people; the room was loaded with tables and chairs, vendors selling their wares on the back wall, a bar near the front, and at the back was a stage. The room had a cacophony of sounds- squeals of laughter, people talking, and the unmistakable sounds of hitting. I turned my head toward the sounds of hitting and low and behold, I noticed a lady cuffed to a Wooden Florentine Cross and a gentleman dressed in black. This man was using a paddle on her and she seemed to be enjoying it. I was overwhelmed. “VF….hey VF….over here,” states a voice in the background. I turn around and I noticed my friend-my for the night. I walked over and I gave her hug and a peck on the cheek. “Hey, you! How are you? I am glad I found you,” I mumble in her ear. “Yea, me too,” whispered my friend, I will call her “T.” T and I looked around and took a seat. We soaked up the scenery and sounds of this BDSM event. This was our first introduction to this lifestyle, if you will our first date! That was over three years ago and I have embraced this lifestyle. There are things still that make me nervous in this lifestyle. But, nothing like the first night, the do or die, should I or shouldn’t I moment. I look back and I am happy that I did not chicken out. I was so close to driving away! I am glad I pushed through my fears and went in. Have you ever drove off or ran off- let your fears get the best of you? I have had a couple of events and situations where I did chicken out. I remember I did not have any supports and I doubted myself. Boy, do I wish I could go back and have a redo! T and I are still friends but we are no longer are FWB, rather just friends. She and I learned this lifestyle together. I had my supports, well we supported each other. Now, I am reminiscing of my BDSM first date and I am happy I took the leap of faith. I now want to explore new things and I want to push my limits. I want to learn and try to new things. I am anticipating my first dates of my new adventures. Have you pushed your limits? Are you waiting for your new first date in life? Thank you for sharing your story. I let my fears get the better of me often. My partner and I have driven to a place, just a bar or restaurant and then not gone in because there'd be a crowd. Great post! There's always the first step and it's always the most difficult one. I can easily relate to how you felt that day. I'm not in BDSM but was active in swinging lifestyle for awhile.
