Windmills of My Mind
Windmills of My Mind Western Kansas and Parts of Eastern Colorado are home to a good many power generating windmills. These massive giants standing out in otherwise empty fields are always a welcome sight, a signal that we can do things better than we have previously. (These were shot from the backseat of a vehicle moving at 75mph with a DSLR camera, so they are not the greatest lol.) "Shall I tell you the secret of the true scholar? It is this: every man I meet is my master in some point, and in that I learn of him." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson |

I think the windmills are a great idea and the one downtown by the Amtrak station does not make noise. When I was in UK there was an array of close to 1000 in a field. I'll hunt for a pic. Love yours (Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group

Southern Alberta has fields and fields of those giant wind turbines..We are known for our westerly winds. When we traveled through Germany years ago, there were fields of the same turbines. I wish I could post some pics of them here!

Nice shots!! I've never understood why people complain about the installation of "ugly" wind turbines. I find them quite pretty and fascinating. Here is a shot I took one night of the ones along I-70 a bit west of Salina.
