Fixing a door

Well I started off installing a new storm door on the back of my house. So everyone asks, "why does it take you so long to do stuff?". Day one start to look for tools. Realize some are missing, look more then go out and buy the missing ones. Go run errands.

Day two go to take storm door off. You suddenly find the missing pry bar you just bought another one of. Take out all the screws except for the last one. It seems stripped in the wood and will not come out. Spend an hour attempting to get it out. Finally pry it off along with a piece of the brick molding. You begin to look and realize that the molding is rotted off around the bottom. Pry molding off and go to Store. Buy new brick molding. Get home and see that molding you bought is damaged. Return to store, swap molding and as you drive home the brakes go out in the Truck. So you cut the molding to fit. Following the old advice measure twice cut once. You now know that it should be measure three times, cut long then trim to length. Back to store to buy more molding.

Day three you wake up and think it would be nice to install "J" track around the Door to clean up the look. So off to store. Look around and are told that the "J" track they have will not work. Find some other style. Buy it go home and measure three times. Cut piece and STILL cut short. Lay out another piece and cut it all wroung. This is followed by 10 minutes of swearing. Return to store for another piece of track. Measure several times then cut. Mount the track and brick molding.

Day Four ah a break! the metal seal is pre cut. Physical therapy was rough today to sore to work.

Day five well the rails are drilled the door is ready to go. Had to really fight with it to get it hung. Its looking good, until I try to close the Door. The other rail is off so it does not close. So I now will have to pry off the other rail, pull the nails, buy a new piece of brick molding. Cut back the siding to remount the molding. sigh its still not done.......

Day six, pryed off the brick molding on one side just to have it snap in half. I think my car knows it way to the Store. So its all up and done except for the door lock. That and some caulking. I must admit it does look good! Finally, at last now to the roof!
