Features: Blog Here is a round up of the things I'm hearing on this Blog and in emails. Blog Home Page - "Watched Blogs" list doesn't show date of last post - "Recent Posts" don't update often enough. It used to be hours, now it's days. This is the main way people keep track of posts and it is pretty much useless as is - It would be nice for standard members to be able to see an image that a gold member puts into a post Blog Management - All these things put a Blog in "Pending" Status: changing a sticky note or settings as to who can read and/or comment, hiding or un-hiding a post, deleting an image. Only changing the image, text or title should put a post back into pending status - Show LIST of the people who watch your blog - Collapsable list of blog posts. I loose track of posts I've made and want an easy way to look through them and update - Like to have the ability to lock a thread - Have a 3 character minimum text requirement to post. A lot of people spam blogs with one smiley face after another When you preview your post, it should include the image so that you can get your coding right - You should be able to turn on and off voting per post, not as an overall setting for the Blog - The CSS tables are still not lining up right Features - Tagging blog posts - word clouds… - A few blog templates would be nice - Allow external within a post - Idea of a Blessed Blog - Smaller real estate for voting Navigation - Set your own preferences as to what kind of blogs you are interested in reading by topic / Tags - Show the "Most Watched Blog List" in the drop down menu under the blog section. Top Blog Bugs INST-219 Member Deleted Post Bug INST-277 "Recent Posts" don't update often enough |

Can I mention a bug here? I have a poll that is going on. I quoted a members comment in that post and I was given the page of "Member Deleted Post" I did not delete my Poll posting and the link to it was a dead link displaying as well. I did a edit post to try bring it back to life and all the text was there to edit. I Clicked on update and it gave me the same thing again "Member Deleted Post". About 15 minutes elapsed and my Poll Posting is live again...

I'm clearly old fashioned, but I prefer to follow the passage of time from first (the actual thread) to last (most recent comment). Maybe my comment is easier to find the other way, but I still prefer to read things in the order in which they happened. AND THE WINNER IS ~~~~ [post 2692868]

There are several items that do not require reviewing that cause a blog post to go back into a pending state for review. Such as changing a sticky note or settings as to who can read and/or comment. Hiding or un-hiding a post. Deleting an image. Only changing the image, text or title should put a post back into pending status. The main blog page not scrolling is a biggie. Viewership drops drastically when this isn't working correctly. Also, the section of "Most Active Recent Posts (one per blog)" is still mucked up showing more than one post per profile. Editing a post puts it into a "member deleted post" status and it takes hours for the post to be fixed. Many members aren't aware that it will eventually correct and get very frustrated. I get frustrated even though I know this. It would be nice to be able to preview with an image in place instead of just the [image] command showing. Since pictures are often larger than the space [image] takes up, it can be difficult to tell how a "designed" post will appear. This is especially important now that you have increased the size of image allowed. If not that, then allow a post to go into a "draft" status instead. Then we can review the post properly before we send it in for review and addition to the site for members to see. It would be nice for standard members to be able to see an image that a gold member puts into a post. This ability of putting an image into a comment is one reason many bloggers choose to upgrade to gold status. Myself included. It would be nice if the hyperlinks could be put back to where a font is applied to text and the hyperlink gets the font code applied as well. I did report this change to the site and they have responded back that they will leave the hyperlinks at the default site font. I realize this is probably due to the change to CSS coding, but can this not be fixed even so? Is it that big of a deal? Maybe even just for profiles and blogs? Again, because of the change to CSS coding the width commands and such don't work. They do in preview, but not the actual post. Do we need to learn new coding? I am self-taught and learning what I already have took a lot of time. Is it possible to expand the ability of members to see more font choices? I realize this is probably related to the individual browser one uses, but hey, I can only ask, right? When a blogger puts up a poll, aside from the bugginess of getting a poll to work correctly, the comments a poll gets does not affect the count for "Active blogs (by unique responses)". I had previously brought this to the attention of the techs via site support, but then never heard anything again other than they would look into why it was this way.

I took a look at your problem and this what I would do: I would suggest, if you dare face the "edit blog post demons" that may show your posts, as "member deleted" for a time, you simply edit the posts and use your "enter" key to define a new line for your bling and text instead of making them one long sentence that allows them to take over your page. That would be the quickest fix.

I'll send you an e-mail and see if we can't get your posts to cooperate.

I agree with you totally. In the meantime, consider making a list to keep on your computer or taking screen shots of your list for easy reference when it happens.

My header turned white too (without me making any edits). Haven't been successful at getting it back to a colored background.

This happened once before. Everyone's blog has gone white. You can use the background commands to color your background in your header. If you take a look at the header in my blog, I currently have it black. Simply code the header section with the bg commands. If you don't know how to do that, read up on it here Use Background Color. I hope that helps you.

I have a question for you Ryan. Ever since I created my blog, my setting has always been viewable to site members only. Each and every post is also set for members only. Not just comments, but the view ability of each post. Why is my blog on other sites? As far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm finding my blog on other sites not affiliated with Various Inc. Here's one example:

The member deleted post is bug "INST-219" Just this week I was able to get a dedicated resource on it. If anyone ever figures out how to recreate this on command, please let me know. I Most of the time it will do it on a first edit, but if for some reason it doesn't, edit it a second or third time. At least by that time, it will go into "member deleted" oblivion.

Now our color choices for our blogs have all been set back to your pre-sets...the main blog page is correct...but when you go to the individual thread...background is white...rather than posting nonsense about the "Swingers Lifestyle" why not respond to some of the other posts around here that you have neglected...

I have noticed that my moods on my blog are now codes rather than descriptions. eg Mood 95 or Mood 40. It looks like the Mood code rather than description is being referenced. Thanks, metta

If you don't see any right now, then simply click on the "view all" hyperlink and you can see the list of all your visitors and you will find the ones with the "eye". I hope that answered your question thoroughly. Congratulations on gaining watchers.

I agree with mmm that I prefer to have my blog comments in their natural order. I find it distracting to have them backwards, and have posted on others' blogs only to realize someone else had said the same thing and I just hadn't noticed because it was backwards. I'm glad we have the choice to do it either way.

Well... I don't feel like a member. I see so many issues that just keep revolving back and forth, buggs that are never truely 'fixed' and of coures, the constant 'pending' status on everything we do. What i DO however feel like, is just another jack ass who have money in my pocket that Black Flirting so desperately tries to get with all these costly advertisements, hidden catch phrases, fraudulent profiles, ones that havent logged in in over a year but are still listed as members, etc. Hell, i could gripe forever. Penthouse, the owners of this site, saw us cumming. Too bad we didnt!
