I Believe....
I Believe.... When you are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness or are in a traumatic accident, you are confronted with your own mortality. It forces you to step back and think about what is really important to you and to confirm what you believe in. When you recover, your life is changed forever and you see things from a different perspective. Here's what I know, I Believe in... I Believe...God doesn’t give us more than we can handle. I Believe...There are no coincidences, everything happens for a reason. I Believe...No one has the right to judge me, except me and my God. I Believe...In the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I Believe...Everyone should have the right to live their true, authentic selves. I Believe...Every baby born can learn what’s wrong and right. I Believe...In strong women I Believe...In respect for elders. I Believe...In Love I Believe...In the importance of education. I Believe...In being strong, even when everything seems to be going wrong. I Believe...If you do what you love, you will love what you do. I Believe...Happiness is something we can create. I Believe...In sunshine I Believe...You should live each day to the fullest, as you don't know what tomorrow will bring I Believe...That each life is measured by the footprints left behind. I Believe...The greatest gift I can conceive of having from anyone is to be seen by them, heard by them, to be understood and to be touched by them. I Believe...In You I Believe...I will wake up in the morning to face another day. ************** What Do You Believe In? |

There are no answers. Life is precious and at a personal level, the only thing in it that truly matters is the love of a spouse, children, family and friends. Tragedy stalks each of us all of the time and you never know when fate will take somebody incredibly precious from you. I doubt that there is a why. All you can do is continue as a mark of love to the one who has gone and a continuing act of love to those left behind that they also so loved.

Personally I thought I would live forever up until I decided one day to cut out a dead limb in the top of an ancient maple tree on my property. I was 30 years old at the time. While cutting the limb it snapped off unexpectedly and knocked me loose from my perch. I grabbed the limb that was falling (probably saving my life) and wound up rolling down the outside of the tree all the way to the ground. All that happened was a bunch of scratches and the breath knocked out of me for a minute. It was a 50 foot drop. I don't climb into trees anymore. Jim. My blog JimmyB7474 is called Into The Woods (erotica) entertaining stories about a guy named Jimmy. Enjoy.

It sounds like you went through a lot. I believe that if I AM measured by the footprint that I leave - I better hustle my butt and work harder on trying to leave a larger footprint... Right now, it looks rather understated... in my opinion. Hmmm 🤔 ... is there another way to look at it Going Too Fucking Far NEW Blog Features RevealeD O O A Foolproof Method Posted Over on that NEW site O O

I believe I'm not afraid to die. The last time I was laying on a gurney, not knowing which way things were gonna go, I asked myself if I ready. I really feel as if I have done everything I wanted to do in my life, and then I felt so calm and prepared for whatever the outcome. Turns out, I lived, in case you were wondering.

Inner peace can be difficult to achieve. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I have been to the well several times. Each time the sip was deeper. I will swim upstream once again and maybe more than once more. There is sunshine in my window (Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group

There's a old Buddhist saying , that to paraphrase says... Don't believe anything because your elders and priests tell you to. Believe it because, in your heart you know it to be true. I believe everyone should believe in something. " I refuse to belong to any organization that would accept me as a member" Groucho Marx

I agree with ALL but #1 & #3. Yes, I have and am confronting my own mortality right now. I have those around me that want me to fight so they can keep me in their lives, I have others that wish me dead. Should I agree with the former, and stay alive just to be in pain & suffer for more years, to please THEM? Or shall I help the latter get what they WANT so badly by not fighting and just giving up? A hard & complicated choice indeed!

What a beautiful post. Thank you. I can't think of anything you haven't covered, other than "I believe every experience in life is meant to teach Me a lesson. It is up to me whether I recognize the Lesson. If every one believed in the things you have listed - there would be a lot more people leading a Happier Life. Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.

This is one of the most personal entries I have posted. I was somewhat reluctant to put myself 'out there'. However, I decided to go ahead, to get people thinking. Seems it was successful.
