Hi sexyldy1000.

thanks for sharing these spelling opportunities.

I still have problems with dessert versus desert.

I'd prefer playing piano in the dark with you...

Hmm...

Brenda Russell - "Piano In The Dark"

When I find myself watching the time
I never think about all the funny things you said
I feel like it's dead
Where is it leading me now
I turn around in the still of the room
Knowing this is when I'm gonna make my move
Can't wait any longer
And I'm feeling stronger but oh
Just as I walk through the door
I can feel your emotion
It's pullin' me back
Back to love you
I know I'm caught up in the middle
I cry just a little
When I think of letting go
Oh no, gave up on the riddle
I cry just a little
When he plays piano in the dark
He holds me close like a thief of the heart
He plays a melody
Born to tear me all apart
The silence is broken

Yes that catches a lot of people too. English is complex. I love the sound of a piano 🎹 which can bring a tear 😢 to my eye.

- You have put succinctly exactly how I felt after letting a word slip past my editor eye regarding my last post. Words are hard, English is difficult; no wonder we, as a society, have resigned to script our conversations into short-handed chats preschoolers would engage with one another when we're on the playground.

English is a complex and challenging language; often considered one of the most difficult to learn. Thank you 🙏 for stopping by.

As members of the Commonwealth, we use the English spelling such as colour not color.

No, no. For a while a lot of English class room teaching books had dilemna as the correct spelling...if you are of a certain age and from the uk, you would have spelt it that way and not known it was wrong.

Really? That’s surprising 😱. Here in Canada 🇨🇦 , we follow the British spelling of common words such as colour, favour, labour, etc., which often get confused with the American spellings : color, favor, labor.

Thank you 🙏 for your support.
Our language certainly is challenging and often confusing 🤔. There’s also differences between Canadian and U.S. spellings for common words like: honour, flavour, neighbour. Can you please ask winter to go away?
