How many people are really using Black Flirting instant messenger? It seems like less than a 3rd of the people who are logged in, are using IM or are in a chat room. Am I missing something? Do most people communicate through email? I'm also wondering why 75% of the profiles I send an IM too, aren't available to chat? With all the people logged in at any given time, and what seems like very little chatting going on. I feel like I'm missing something. Can anybody shed a little light on how the majority of people are communicating on here? Thank you to anybody who responds to my questions.

dnafun11: While I understand your response and see the point it makes me wonder what the idea behind the "doesn't make money" practice. In a way it can make the site money, but is still a risk like anything else. Yes, people can meet through the IM feature, removing the need to purchase a membership.

Having the IM feature can make money as well. If Various, Inc. can not get the IM feature to operate correctly, what instills confidence that the rest of the site is functional? For comparison, taking a vehicle for a test drive does not make a dealership money. You can go to several dealerships and test drive a vehicle with no obligation, no money spent, and just enjoy the feeling of driving that particular car. By driving it, seeing how it performs, makes the sale. If you got into a Mercedes, turned the key and on dashboard lit up saying "is not available for operation", you would most likely not purchase a Mercedes.

By having the IM feature working gives me a good feeling about the company operating the site, instills confidence that money I spend on the site in the future is being used to improve services provided to me, improving my chances of success. If the site appears "broken" by a non-functioning feature, then maybe a competitor with a fully functioning site might be a better option.
