Sunshine!

Sunshine!

The sun is fairly shy in this part of the country, at this time of year. We haven't been getting snow but it's still been gloomy. Today we had sun and about thirty degrees. We hike in the late afternoon when the shadows are getting long. It's hard to explain how good that sun feels after it's been gone a while. The textures in the woods are different too, especially in the long pale daylight before sundown.

I haven't spent a lot of time in Minnesota but I sure liked what I saw. PD wants to go back to the Dakotas soon- we might just see some of Minnesota too. This may sound odd to you, but I liked Duluth a lot. I was there in mid winter forty years ago and it was a gritty dirty port city. i thought it was pretty cool. I had family in Thunder Bay, Ontario in the early part of the century- maybe we'll circle around the east side of Lake Huron and head west from there.

Beautiful country, but way too cold for me. we were partly cloudy and 70 degrees today.
You have to get used to the cold. I can't handle it like I did when I was a kid. We didn't know what insulated overalls were back then. I used to work all winter wearing steel toed boots! After the initial snow and cold temperatures it's been pretty mild here. Thirty degrees isn't bad at all, especially when you get the bonus of sunshine!

Gorgeous B, I love these beautiful woodland images of your locale but I would love them even more with a certain man at least partially naked in them but I understand that 30°F is much cooler than our 30°C, so I understand you not wanting frostbite. I'm delighted that you're getting some yummy sunshine.
You talking about Stu? He won't even come near here when it's cold let alone take off his pants! And if you were referring to me, you have heard of shrinkage, haven't you? In thirty degrees my dick would panic and retreat so fast it'd be sticking out my ass before it managed to apply the brakes! I could literally go fuck myself runnin". See, even the metaphors are so cold they're confused.

Walking in the woods in a sweater and jacket is fine at thirty degrees...but not naked! Gracie isn't such a sissy though- we took her to Asylum Lake last week and couldn't keep her out of the creek. She loved playing in the water spilling from the lake outlet!

I lived in Phoenix for a couple of years and I liked it. I loved the desert! But the north woods is my home, and I missed that.

Dear man, I was referring to you but as I originally said there's quite a difference between 30°F and 30°C, so I understand. I'm loving the metaphors, they made me laugh but I wouldn't like to see them in action. Gracie sounds like a toughie. Was she named after Gracie Fields?
I knew a sweet Great Pyrenees named Gracie once and named her for that Gracie. The first Gracie belonged to my brother in law,and lived in the Poconos. I went walking with her one January day when we were visiting and fell in love with her.

Gracie does rock! She morphs into Batshit Gracie when she gets near water. The lake was frozen that day and she was pawing it the ice trying to get in. When I took her around to the creek she damn near dragged me in. That water is COLD but she doesn't care.

It very often is full of snow, and was in early November- we had nearly a foot. It warmed up, rained, and now we're waiting for the next snowstorm. Last year we had ten feet of snow, four feet more than average. It will surely come again. The first big new snow I love walking in the woods- it gets quiet and- well, I posted some photos of it about a month ago in my blog. I'll post more again.

They're getting crowded, those woods! Fifteen years ago I could go there on a lovely summer day and no one else would be there. Seven years ago I could go there with a sprinkling of snow on the ground and no one would be there. OK, it's not exactly crowded now, but there are other cars in the little parking area now, even in winter. On the up side, a lot of those cars belong to girls' track teams with their skimpy little shorts and those adorable little cami shirts. Or yuppie housewives on skis in those tight black ski pants.....I LOVE tight black drawers! Molded around a well shaped and rounded ass, so snug every pore is accentuated....the highlighted cheeks alongside a deep butt crack......I need another drink.

The stark beauty of your woods there in the late autumn is incredible. It looks so quiet and peaceful, your own little slice of heaven on earth.

It never gets old, never wears off. Every day there is as good as the first, and it changes every day. Just three weeks ago it was covered in snow. Now the snow is gone, but it'll come back and get deep, and quiet. If you could see my dog, the excitement in her whole body when we walk there. Sometimes she comes running back to me and just touches me like "This is so fucking great!" and then tears off again. You feel alive.

I'd love seeing them! I drove through the Ozarks once, in 1973, in a Volkswagen Microbus. It was beautiful! I had very long hair and looked like a hippie. People there stared at me as if I was walking around with no pants on. I'm pretty sure I was actually wearing pants.

I enjoy seeing what your neck of the woods looks like currently. Here in the deep south, on the coast, my yard is covered in leaves and the temp is at 30 this morning. The water temp is hovering around 68. I keep thinking I need to get a few photos before it turns gray.
Thanks for sharing.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

The maximum allowable size of photos in the blogs doesn't do them justice. There are so many different textures and shades . I'm always a little disappointed when I post the photos- just like the photo doesn't capture what it is to actually be IN the woods.

Not by much still damn cold. LOL!
We've had snow and ten here too this time of year. I'm not sure what the average temp and snowfall is for this date. We've had warm Decembers and cold ones. The sun IS unusual though. This is a gloomy month in Southwest Michigan.

We're back to normal now- grey and overcast. Yesterday was very foggy. Around here even if you can find a hill with enough elevation to see over the trees the haze obscures the view, except on rare occasions. Winter is usually the only season dry enough to afford a long vista. Like the human body, Michigan is mostly water.

Thank you! We walk every afternoon, and I can't resist sharing the photos, but really it doesn't even come close to how it feels being there.
It's really nice to have you visit! I hope to see you back again soon!

That was kind of a surprise, too. We had a foot of snow in November, and now fifty degrees and sunshine. It's not unheard of, but it is unusual. Most often it's quite cold this time of year.

It was so warm on my walk, that I had to unzip my coat. The flowers are still blooming.
Honey, I usually unzip in the woods too....especially when the flowers are out.

Thank you, sweetie! I wish I could post bigger pictures. These little snapshots don't convey all the display of light, all the detail in the trees and the needles of the firs and pines. That woods is a magical place.
