The Fifteenth Virtual Symposium The Virtual Symposium Returns Lets Pick A Topic The Virtual Symposium Returns: Let’s Pick A Topic! It’s time to vote for a topic for the Fifteenth Virtual Symposium. The topics to choose from include: Comics and cartoons Fetishes Black and white Religion Other (Write it in below.) The virtual symposia are an excellent way to meet bloggers unknown to you before. Contributors vote for a topic from several suggestions and expound upon that topic in any number of ways- pictorially, in prose, posey or song. There are very few rules. Submissions should be posted on or about 27 December 2015 in the neighborhood of midnight, but it’s a loose deadline and early contributions are encouraged and late entries are welcome. Post a link to the blog of humorlife so that he can post a list of participants. This is the best community building exercise the blogs have seen. We come here to interact with other members and any of us who blog here enjoy the social exchange with other bloggers on the site. Whether you’re a veteran blogger or submitting your first post, sharing our disparate views on a single topic is the single most interesting and enlightening way to get a glimpse into the inner workings of our fellows’ brains and imaginations. So set your brains free and let your imaginations run wild. And keep in mind there is always a chance that you will meet that one special blogger who touches not only your soul but possibly your genitalia as well. We’re here to meet interesting new people and fuck them, if we’re lucky, and you gotta jump in the pool to do that. I am torn on this. (So I didn't vote.) I am also a new contributor, but have been around these blogs here fore a while. I was big into the "Hijack Tuesday" thing. I have been slow to join this venture, mostly because I have my own thing going on now. . But these "symposiums" are AWESOME! .. (I have been lamenting that I don't have the time to fully participate, but I do want to join in. This is a "community", after all. I know tons about cartoons! (Ranking low in the polls, at last count.) But I am a 'noob' when it comes to comics.  Right now I would love to delve into religion. .. But it is also a touchy subject. .. I have solid opinions that many would disagree with, so I am prone to step away. No promises, but I do plan to participate whatever the subject is this month.

What a great debate! Not, perhaps, the mud-throwing, hair-pulling extravaganza I was hoping for, but I believe all of the topics (and at least one write-in) are represented here... The current close contest is fertile ground for electioneering, vote-buying, and flat-out blackmail. I encourage every symposium voter to resort to all of the above. (Why let the politicians have all the fun?) Thank you for the pimping, and thank you for staying around for the symposium. Writers like you were the reason I launched it. I voted black and white.. The topic is great because it could be about anything, from movies and nostalgic photos to fetishes and , yes, religion.... It crossed my mind that it would be interesting to touch every single topic suggested for a vote in one post about black and white... *sigh* But I'm not going to do that again. Site performance is too frustrating and what was supposed to be fun turned out a nightmare. I agree with most - blogs/symposia and friends are the only reasons I'm still here. It IS frustrating to see our favorite playground being torn down to build a Walmart. All right- it would be disappointing to see a smelly stockyard replaced by a Walmart. But still! I liked black and white too, but I had something special to me in mind when the comics topic appeared. I doubt it will win but I might write a post about it anyway sometime. Very few topics of my choice have won. Sometimes the ones I didn't pick are the most fun. This time I really did have an idea for comics and was thinking about a post before it was suggested.
