Thanks, Spunky. We don't hike much in summer. Only Marco seems to like the heat. Marco is there and he loves the hikes but he's a little off my radar. I'm walking Gracie off leash now so I have to keep an eye on her. She's always pushing the envelope. Pam has full charge of Marco. But, between riding herd on Gracie and trying to take pictures, I have enough to do. So poor Marco isn't getting much attention from me.

Getting away from the screens is a big deal. I've been hiking in the forest all my life, and in fields. Now I have time to go every day. It's good for the soul to go out and just be in the world, in some quiet and wild place. And of course my dogs love it. Every hike is a hunt for them.

When I do miss a day, I really do miss it. There have been days I just didn't have the energy to go, but it breaks Gracie's heart if we don't, so I take her anyway. I always feel better for having gone to the forest.
