Thank you. I have no idea what kind of winter we'll have. Last year was fairly warm, the year before was cold. It's anyone's guess what's gonna happen. I heard you had snow already- we might have to head north for winter.

There are days in the springtime when the geese are making an unbelievable racket out there. And last spring a pair of trumpeter swans showed up to add their horns. Now and then it's punctuated by a chorus of sandhill cranes. We've laughed about that a number of times, about how we go there for the peace and quiet.

Gracie has fun everywhere but if there's water included she's in her element. She loves mud baths too. I've given up trying to keep her out of the muck.

I don't know why so many of you are prejudiced against Canadian geese. Whenever my boss went to the mailbox he came back cussing the geese and scraping his dress shoes. A friend of mine noticed this and rewarded the geese with corn. And the geese paid him back by continuing to shit all over the yard!

I love watching her in the water. She's right at home and she tastes the water as she swims. She's still young enough that she gets very excited about it and runs for joy just because she got to get wet.

She does! Remarkably, she leaves the birds alone. She'll chase varmints and vault off after deer, although she always obeys when I call her back. But she doesn't bother the birds.
