    Quoting 08540Tantrafun:
Bill, Trump is not the cause, he is the effect. The white working class (WWC) was marginalized and they voted with their middle finger against the ruling elites of both parties. Both Bush and Clinton. They have very good reason for doing so.

The WWC is plagued by crisis within and without — household income has been stagnant for 40 years. The mortality rate for whites 45 to 54 years old with no more than a high-school education skyrocketed. Opioids arrived and factories left. Democrats pretended to not see it. Repeatedly said things are just great and pointed to 5% unemployment rate.
Clinton signed the NAFTA that Bush Proposed. Factories relocated and mass immigration legal and illegal, drove down already stagnant wages for scares jobs that WWC qualified for. They imposed environmental policies meant to crush carbon-intensive industries, that has been a large part of their employment.

Then they mocked their victims as rednecks on the wrong side of history. Trump capitalized on this. Told the WWC what they wanted to hear and got elected.

So the "UN-redeemable deplorable s" gave them the middle finger once Bernie's nomination was stolen. Bernie would have easily beaten DJT.

DJT is still way better than Pence or Ted Cruz. DJT has no ideology. he is just a malignant Narcissist, who wants people to blow sunshine up his ass. God help us if he resigns and pence and the ideologues who are on a mission from god, who believe in American exceptionalism and prosperity doctrine takes the reign. Prosperity doctrine is as close to Plato's republic, eugenics movement and Nazi ideology as you can get.
White working class disenfranchised? You've got to be kidding me! You'll read this in both right and left leaning media but it's bullshit wherever it comes from. The middle class is being squeezed to death, and certainly people who work for a living don't get a hell of a lot from either party, but most working class people who've been thrown out of work are not white- minorities have been hit harder by the sellout to Wall Street than anyone else. It's the role of a demagogue to fix blame on something or someone simple and that's what Trump has done- pointed a finger at "the others", i.e., brown people and women of any color. I hardly see how this absolves him from any responsibility for his own actions. He's empowered people to give free rein to their basest instincts.

The disenfranchisement you talk about is something I addressed specifically in the essay: "They don't recognize white privilege and are so blind to it that equality looks like oppression to them."

You tell me that Trump is not the cause but the effect. Explain to me then who's responsible for his dishonesty. How about his complete ignorance of any of the issues a president must address, like foreign and domestic policy? Is Trump then not responsible for his utter incompetence as an administrative executive? Will yo try to persuade me that he is not responsible for the obstruction of justice implicit in firing James Comey? Are you going to tell me that the pussy grabber can't be held accountable for grabbing pussy? Is that true for all of us, or just for Trump?

I have to confess I'm baffled by your continued attempts to make excuses for Donald Trump. There is not only nothing about him to admire but absolutely nothing that deserves any respect.

Bill, I am not making excuses for Trump. He is a 70 years old Narcissist. he is not going to change. To me this is great. Plato wrote that a united elite could resist popular uprisings. Power can change hands to the ruled, only when the ruling class is fractured. Colonialism was based on this principle. Gandhi knew this as well as Martin Luther king and Nelson Mandela. Black lives, Native American lives, poor whites life and immigrants life really don't matter in politics. It never has. Change happens not because of great enlightenment or humanitarian reason. It happens when the ruling classes economic interests are in conflict with each other and their unity is split.

Clinton and Bush are part of the same cabal. Sanders, even if he had won would have been treated like Carter. I love the fact that these elites are fighting each other. Trump if he stays in power for 2 years will completely fracture the globalist elites. Untill now we have over 90% of the ruling classes puppets getting reelected. Most of the candidates of both sides are picked, groomed and promoted by the elites and the media owned by them. Trump has already infuriated half the voting public.

Narcissits gas light. The die hard Trump supporters are going to find out tomorrow (Trump budget aka Ryans budget) that they been had. The budget he presents tomorrow will hit WWC, Medicare and Medicaid recipients hard.

People are going to come out with pitch forks at politicians when they go back to their districts. Trump will force the poltitions to defend the undefencible, enraging the public even further. So far only chavetzz resigned.

B&B Circus may have shut down. Trump show goes on. MIC and Banksters will keep him in office since he is good for their business. People will take their anger on senators, congressman and governors. They will throw the bums out. This could not have happened now with Hillery, Bush or Sanders in the white house. So I am delighted that trump is enraging the electorates to take action, while driving the Elites bat shit crazy and fracturing their unity at the same time.

Trump is inspiring nationalists in Europe. Brexit is done Frexit is a possibility. Scotland and Ireland is making noises. George bush's New world Order designed by neo-cons seems to be in trouble. The leader and creator of NWO, the U.S under trump is torpedoing the very concept. He is warring with the very institutions built to promote NWO namely U.N, Nato, E.U. Absolute unity among the elites untill now in the U.S, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia is gone. Trump is the mother of all bombs that is making it happen. If you don't focus on his words and actions, you will see that the results are what you and I would find desirable.

Bill even though our approach may be different, the outcome we desire is the same. A job that brings dignity, life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, equality and freedom to pursue ones goals aspirations and express it in peace and safety.

How was that for my prediction. A budget designed by former freedom caucus Rep Mulvaney. It is off the people, far the people, buy the people. It is a budget for the elites by the elites. Let them eat beautiful chocolate cakes budget “We are no longer going to measure compassion by the number of programs or number of people on those programs,” “It’s a taxpayer-first budget,” .Office of Management and Budget (OM Director Mick Mulvaney author of budget named “A New Foundation for American Greatness,”

“This is, I think, the first time in a long time that an administration has written a budget through the eyes of the people who are actually paying the taxes,” said Mick Mulvaney. House Speaker Paul Ryan says President Donald Trump's budget proposal for the coming fiscal year prioritizes "American taxpayers over Washington bureaucrats" while strengthening the military. Ryan says "we can finally turn the page on the Obama era of bloated budgets that never balance."
Ryan says "President Trump has proven his commitment to fiscal responsibility with a budget that will grow the economy."

Revolutions are made of these.

All $880 billion in Medicaid cuts included in the Republican health plan that has passed the House, plus $610 billion in additional cuts due to adopting an even stingier formula for increasing Medicaid funding year over year. This amounts to a total cut to Medicaid of over 47 percent.
$191 billion in cuts from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or food stamps, over 10 years. That's about a 25 percent cut.
$40.4 billion in cuts to the earned income tax credit and child tax credit over 10 years, programs that, along with SNAP, make up much of the US's safety net for poor people. T
$21.6 billion in cuts to Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or welfare, over 10 years.
Huge cuts to most federal agencies: a 31.4 percent cut to the Environmental Protection Agency budget, 29.1 percent cut to the State Department, 20.5 percent to Agriculture, 19.8 percent to Labor, 16.2 percent to Health and Human Services, 15.8 percent to Commerce, 13.2 percent to Housing and Urban Development, 12.7 percent to Transportation, and 10.9 percent to Interior.

    Quoting joisygirl:
It beggars belief that this is what we have for a president and the misfits he's cobbled together into his ever changing administration, altered (daily it seems) on the whims of this mercurial natured misfit of a human being himself. It's frightening to imagine where it all may lead. Margaret Atwood's view of dystopian near future, The Handmaid's Tale, has now been made into a chilling weekly television series, Atwood's vision doesn't seem so far fetched at this moment in time. The thought that the religious right and Trump and his fanatics now have a hand in altering our world into something unrecognizable and unimaginable is just chilling. I can't say that I haven't imagined that he'd be removed in one way or another. B. you hit the nail right on the head with this post. I know "them" too. They are my family, neighbors and they won't see what he's done or doing. My sister told me you can't believe the media, they are putting out fake news! So they will never believe and you are right as to the reasons they voted him in. The will stick to him to the bitter end no matter what it may be.
Trump's supporters can't be shocked by Trump or by any of his idiotic shenanigans for the obvious reason that it's why they voted for him. They want a president who's as self centered, dumb and intellectually incurious as they are. The things that appall most of us are precisely what they adore about President Babyhands. The really depressing thing about all of this is that right now, when we need Congress to do the right thing and police Trump's incompetence, all they can consider is what's in it for them and their conservative agenda. To hell with the public.
