Yes I know I am in the sandpit ... but in my part of the world tumbleweed isn't common. Sandstorms are !

So what am I talking about then.

There are days when you enter one of the existing Regional Flash Chats and you see people come in people leave.

I saw this happen which led to the eventual slow death of the room where people come and go because there is no one talking. The handles are either lurking or too much about cool cliques that anyone else is automatically excluded.

The genesis of the slow death of any chat is when members seem to lose their sense of reality.

Given that some actually interact with members offline as well given location the general number come in just to unwind - have some conversation, meet some like minded and then take it from there - whatever "there" and "taking it" means to each person.

You will often encounter in such rooms these types

1. The Copy Paster Who Cannot Spell and is on drugs or something

This person will type 1 stupid badly spelt all insulting line or if they are creative they have a repertoire of maybe 3-4 sentences ... all being racist, sexist and some form of phobia rolled into one.

Their form of communication is to annoy the fuck out of everyone else in the room. Thus hoping to get some form of equally stupid response. Seasoned members in the room have long iggi-ed this sad pathetic excuse but the newer ones get pulled into this sick individuals few seconds of infamy.

2. Everybody is a Slut/Dumb Fuck but me

Now this kind finds a problem with everyone and when I say everyone I mean EVERYONE. Too fat too thin too white too brown too smart too dumb ... you get what I mean.

They are the Chats resident NEGATIVITY AURA. You can be nice to them but they will only spit more bile and try to bring you down. Like a wank off they get their high when everyone hates on them - it fuels them even further ... this must be some form of masochism.

3. Room Divas Every Guy is Mine

Aaaaaa we have all met these in the chat room. They feed off attention. The moment they feel their attention bank is low from ALL the men in the room they start either being snotty with all the other females or miraculously have a new drama in their lives which will inadvertently draw back any male attention that was being lost ... maybe someone more interesting was captivating in the room.

4. Room Alpha Male Every Girl is Mine

Just role reversal of the above. But instead of dramas they try to prove how much more manly and desirable they are while pulling the other chaps down a peg or two by highlighting some obscure forgotten misadventure or urban legend.

5. You can ONLY talk to me but I can talk to anyone

You make this "friend" you inbox, you IM, you might even give them email addresses or use other social messenger apps and take them from Black Flirting to real world.

Now this kind is possessive. Apparently becoming their friend means you cease to have social interaction with anyone else. You must contact them ONLY.

If you are seen interacting with others in rooms you become the slut, if you talk to people they dislike but you get on fine with - you're a player playing with their emotions. If you see them having a ball being 1-4 in the chatrooms its ok - they have the privilege you don't.

There are so many more I really cannot begin to list all of them.

This sense of reality skewed worries me sometimes. I mean given am not out here finding my weekend shag partner. But I have had many interesting conversations interrupted by one of the above types.

People need to understand online isn't REAL LIFE!
It's a place anyone can be anyone they want to be - some of them like me are well just ourselves. But a large number are living off their fantasies. Some clearly the pictures and descriptions do not match the person they are ....

Take a REALITY CHECK. This is the internet.
And while we are warning about safe ... think about how unsafe our own interactions online can be.

 Chat rooms are where parents that come here drop their kids off at.
