sleep when i do sleep, it is with the window open and the space heater on. i have one leg under the covers and one leg outside the covers. i sleep in a t-shirt. but, i use the word sleep loosely. slumber typically overcomes me after i have worn myself out completely either writing or baking, taking care of the or trying to maintain my sanity. sleep never lasts long and i often find my best inspiration and ideas when laying down, staring into nothing.  i'm not the cuddle type. i haven't fallen asleep with anyone in so long i'm sure i wouldn't know how. think i'd be so self-conscious i wouldn't allow myself to drift away. tonight though, i want to be held....tight. i want to be told i'm needed and wanted and not with words but by the grip with which he holds me tight long after my breathing has deepened. his lips on my forehead would be the last memory of night as he whispers, "sweet dreams my good girl"  |
