Almost 60 and Sassy as Hell
Almost 60 and Sassy as Hell Something strange began happening in my late 40s. After a lifetime of people pleasing and trying to make everybody like me I said fuck it. Literally. 2 bad marriages and several cheating bastatd boyfriends is just the kind of thing to make a simple country girl stop and wonder, what the hell was my problem? Everyone got my best. I just never figure out how to give my best to myself. I had a girlfriend who was swinging. She told me how it changed her. Made her feel again. Alive again. Brave again. I knew in moment i was gonna dive in head first and never look back. And 's exactly what I did. In journey I found my passion I never knew was in there. I began to appreciate the time things and gained a new perspective allowed to be grateful not just when there was no storm but right in the middle of it. Claiming my sexuality and giving myself permission to love and be free added more to my life than I ever dreamed. The shackes were off and I could for the first time say. This is for me. Just me. And 's a beautiful thing. |

A beautiful Zen mindset. The inevitable pain (mental and/or physical) of human experience tends to make us more fearful and defensive. Good on you for moving past those defense mechanisms and reopening yourself to experience and acceptance. Enjoy the rewards that come with letting go of judgment and control and receiving the world with open hands.

Pleasing others makes one think that others will appreciate that and return the gesture, showing they care and trying their best. Instead lots of times people just take. It's almost acceptable these days for people to be selfish in a bad way (and no, not referring to you of course). You are not selfish. You were due a good change that benefited you and apparently you've done that very well. Smart. I admire that. Good for you!
