orgasm, inc.

this is actually a documentary on the pharmaceutical companies development of a disease called female sexual dysfunction and the ensuing development of a medication to treat that dysfunction. a srt of viagra for women.

so far, rational medical and independent research people have managed to keep the medications produced from being approved. the side effects of the medications are intense (mostly cardiovascular) and since there really is no disease to start with since it was fabricated by the pharmas, the need for the med is less than compelling.

in the doc, one women can't have a vaginal orgasm. convinced by pharma data and media that she is not normal (not knowing that over 70% of women do not have vaginal orgasms without clitoral stimulation). she undergoes a surgery where an electrical wire is inserted in her spinal column which is supposed to be able to stimulate orgasms during sex. it made her leg jump like a pithed frog.....reminded me of the mvoie doctor strangelove...snork.

she had the stimulator removed but her desperation to be "normal" was only assuaged when she learend the true statistical data. watching her face change when she heard it was like watching someone open a present.

i know that the folks here are less likely to be popping any of these pills, or buying into female sexual dysfunction. we know about lube and toys and the clitoris and the g spot. but i bet my sister doesn't. and i know my mom didn't.

so as a sister to a sister, mother to a , friend to a friend, let's make it our business....not the pharma business. wouldn't it be something if the next time they decided to make up a disease, the AMA simply said, that's not a real disease. with billions of dollars in marketing, the pharma industry sold us a disease. doctors and grass root female organizations told them no deal. now, let's tell our sisterfriends. share what we know so that orgasms aren't incoporated.

they're free....c'mere, i'll show ya.

Hm, I agree it isn't a "real disease" to not be able to have a vaginal orgasm.

But I DO think loss of libido is a legitimate issue. I have talked with my sister; she is just not as interested in sex as her husband is, after she hit menopause. On the one hand she kinda wishes he would just get over it and she laughs at all of the old men taking viagra so they can pester their old wives who have lost their libido But on the other hand she said that if there were a drug that could restore her libido, she would take it.

So why aren't the pharma companies attacking that one? (guessing it's because nobody's figured it out yet)

You probably do not want to know how many times I have sat here at my desk hearing the words "tobacco abuse disorder syndrome" and wanting to smack the doctor.

The drug companies have manufactured a whole lot of diseases over the years. So have the advertising companies. For gits and shiggles, look up the history of "halitosis."

PS - that "leg jump like a pithed frog" would be right up there with the penis pump as far as neat party tricks

Was this line intentional?
On the one hand she kinda wishes he would just get over it
I bet that's what he's doin' with the other hand.
(giggle)

But in all seriousness, this whole better living through chemistry is either ill conceived or completely diabolical. Are you familiar at all with the work of Dr. Rima Laibow? Search her and you'll get a bit of conspiracy theory, but a lot of fact, and it's pretty chilling. Basically how our food has gotten intentionally less nutritious and losing its restorative properties, but VOILA! the same companies that have their hands in food production? Also make vitamins and drugs! Pharm. companies and food companies, in bed with each other!

Do you suppose they have trouble achieving orgasms?

the concern i had was that they were so cavalier about the promotion and the side effects were pooh poohed lke it was just some minor glitch. and since they were offering basicallyt he same advanaatage as lube...........i mean, really??

i'm adding a comment to clarify

none of the drugs they've come up with actually stimulate orgasm - so far all they've got is stuff that helps with vaginal moistening and is testoterone derivative which must be tken in conjunciton with women taking estrogne post menopause.

well, if you're taking estrogen post menopause, you're likely to not have dryness anyway so DOH

but you are likely to increase heart issues and other stuff.... and with the testosterone it increases the risk.

so really, no orgasm, just more slippy, slidy.......orgasms are still up to us.......

despite the marketing crap that says otherwise.

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

Wicked, it amazes me that we (as a nation of apparent sheep) follow so blindly where ever we're lead by the advertising-marketing-profit driven sheepdogs who keep barking and nipping at us!

While my experience with post menopausal women is limited, it is not zero, and there is nothing that a bit of saliva (applied by mouth, liberally, by me to her parts) and perhaps a bit of lube, applied by her hand to me, won't accomplish. Usually the saliva, if applied long enough, solves the problem fully, IF there is a problem. The lube is an insurance policy one lady felt was necessary; who am I to argue? Patience helps too, on the part of both partners to the lovemaking. And what's the point of rushing anyway?

One lady friend, an RN, had caged a supply of Viagra to have on hand, and said she'd tried it herself, to minimal effect. I tried one too, and it seems that if you don't need it, it doesn't do anything.

Hope that your LD weekend is a good one
Chas
