Well, I am going out tonight, and going to have a drink or two with someone I met on this site. This is the first time I've ever done anything even remotely like this; met someone over a computer and asked them out. Heck, I'm usually too much of a chicken anyway to ask people out in person! So, wish me luck! Hopefully we'll have fun.

....to tools. Mostly power tools, but good hand tools, too. Good grief, I've spent _way_ too much money lately just on tools to finish up some house and car projects. Sometimes I think tool shopping is one of the best parts of an involved project!

Yeah, I know that means absolutely nothing to anyone, since, well, chances are you aren't *here*. (here = central CA) Some of the nice things about good weather here:
- The girls walking around town wear less - I can drive any of my cars with the top down. - I can ride my motorcycle around town without a jacket (only if I'm feeling brave/stupid!) - The girls wear less...oh, wait; I already said that. - Um, it's warm enough for me to be comfortable.
Yeah, there's lots more, but that's it for the moment!

Yup, you read that right. A couple days ago I cut a couple feet of hair off. This is the first time in about 10 years that I've had short hair, and it is really still feels unusal for me. I had a pony tail down to my waist before that, and just a couple months ago my hair was long enough to sit on, so this is a pretty big deal for me!

Well, I didn't go to Vegas. Instead I worked all day, then went and worked another 8 hours in the fabrication shop and built a trailer for my boss' new jet ski.
I guess its better this way; I was worried how I was going to afford the time off.

So, I finished my finals today. Went to dinner with a couple instructors, that was fun. It's been a long day, and I'm going to hibernate until tomorrow.
....then maybe I'll drive to Vegas.

Desert Trip, part II

Well, as much as I love living on the Coast, I do very much look forward to spending a little time in the desert every spring.
In past years I've wandered all about the Mojave. While I have a few favorite places I like to try to visit on these trips, I usually just kind of head out whichever direction circumstances take me, frequently resulting in some interesting, if not amazing experiences.
This particular trip took me to a place near Rainbow Basin the first night. I got rained on that night; some sprinkles on my face woke me from a deep sleep two or three times. Some time around three or four it started raining harder, and I had to crawl into a tent to keep from getting soaked through. I didn't know what the next day's weather would be like, and I wasn't interested in starting my trip out soaked.
The next couple days found me wandering around Death Valley and the surrounding areas. I visited many places in and out of the park, including Bad Water, Natural Bridge, Devil's Cornfield, Salt Creek, and many more. None of these places required much more than a few minute's walk, though, but that's ok. I did crawl around on the rocks looking at cool geology, etc.
The weather wasn't bad. At the hottest it probably never really got over about 105 or so, and the nights were in the 80s. (Farenheit) There was no more rain, so the rest of the nights found me falling asleep counting metorites overhead.
Anyway, every time I head out to the desert I find another dozen or so places I plan to visit on future trips....but of course, suggestions are always welcome!!!

Really, that's all I wanted to say. I just got back from four or so days of wandering about the desert, and had a great time. Took lots of good pictures, did a few really nice hikes, enjoyed the weather.
Now I'm back at home and supposed to go to work. Feh.

Maybe I'm wierd. I think one of the sexiest things ever for me is a smart girl. Not just book smart, or expierenced in her field, but also one with an imagination. Oftentimes, but not always, these are readers, film buffs, sometimes artists.
I guess, that's not really _that_ unreasonable; I mean everybody has different ideas of what they find boring and what they find sexy. For me, I guess the imagination is one of those little things that I look for subconsciously when talking to someone new. The real tragedy, however, is that most people are embaressed of this for some reason. They don't like to tell stories, or make up games, or are afraid of trying new things that they think might be fun, but fear that other people think are uncool. They think that's just stuff, that they've outgrow it. I think that what they really need to do instead is learn to ougrow their fear of what others think.
Oh, well. Hey, got an imagination? Email me or catch me in chat sometime. I'll be the guy sitting there ignoring all the idiots chanting "TAKE OFF UR SHIRT."
